Blue tree monitors
Blue Tree Monitors are considered the most prestigious lizard in Indonesian culture.
Widely known for its bright emerald colored eyes and enormous tails, the Indonesian blue tree monitors are indisputably the king of the lizards.
Due to its high reputation and the high demand for sales in the past, the blue tree monitors are endangered. Furthermore, the experts predict there are less than 2500 mature blue tree monitors in existence, causing them to rank low on its conservation status.
Unfortunately, due to the heavy mining and energy industry prominent in Indonesia, these beautiful lizards are losing their homes because of deforestation and habitat destruction.
